Coral Games Endless - IS LAUNCHED!

CORAL GAMES ENDLESS
Finally, I have released some software on my itch.io profile! Coral Games Endless is a hastily-made experimental music system that produces a generative, endless version of the track Coral Games from my record Telex From MIDI City. The original sounds like this:

There's also a finite (but extended) version releasing tomorrow. I'll try to remember to edit this post once it's live but you'll find it over on Bandcamp.

I made this version entirely in Godot without using any third-party audio middleware. I wanted to ship something in Godot to see how easy/hard it was, and although there's a pretty good Wwise integration kicking about, I deliberately stuck to the inbuilt audio framework to see how far I could get using only an open source framework The results are... mixed. But I'm glad I did it!

There's not much going on in the way of interaction. You can click the bubbles if you want to add your own little procedural melody to the sonics. The framereate in the browser version is disappointingly low. Not sure why that is. I like the idea of being able to keep these things in the browser so people can just leave a tab open and let the music play endlessly. So that'll be the first thing to fix, should I figure out how.

That's it. Enjoy. And check out my blog/newsletter The Komoy Research Noise Unit if you'd like more about this kind of project. I'll definitely be going into the specifics of the music system over there at some point.

That's it. ENJOY THE SOOTHING SOUNDS OF CORAL GAMES, BROADCASTING LIVE FROM THE SUNKEN ARCHIVE.
